On August 2nd, 2025, the spirit of service and social responsibility was once again demonstrated by the National Service Scheme (NSS) students of St. Charles Women’s PU College, when a group of 100 dedicated volunteers came forward to support a neighboring school. Recognizing the need for better facilities and basic arrangements for the smooth functioning of the institution, the volunteers planned and executed an initiative that reflected both their compassion and commitment to the community.
The NSS team worked together with enthusiasm, ensuring that the school was provided with essential arrangements such as seating, learning materials, and basic infrastructural support. Their efforts created a more conducive environment for the students of the neighboring school, many of whom come from humble backgrounds. The initiative was not only about providing material support, but also about offering encouragement and solidarity to the children and staff. This noble act highlights the vision of the NSS — “Not Me, But You” — a motto that emphasizes selfless service and collective growth. Through their hard work, the student volunteers of St. Charles Women’s PU College set an example of how young minds can bring meaningful change when guided by compassion and responsibility. The initiative was met with appreciation by the school authorities and local community, who expressed their gratitude to the NSS unit for their thoughtful and timely support. Such activities not only enrich the lives of those who are served, but also shape the character of the volunteers, instilling in them values of empathy, teamwork, and leadership. The contribution of the 100 NSS volunteers of St. Charles Women’s PU College on August 2nd, 2025, stands as a reminder that even small acts of service can make a big difference in the lives of others. Their initiative will surely inspire many more students to embrace the joy of serving society and to continue building bridges of solidarity with the community around them.
