On 18th August, 2025, the NSS Unit of St. Charles Women’s PU College organized a Paper Bag Making Initiative as part of their efforts to promote eco-friendly practices and reduce plastic usage. The students prepared paper bags using recycled materials, combining creativity with a strong sense of environmental responsibility.
These paper bags were specifically used for packaging groundnuts (kadle), providing a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. The initiative not only encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in daily life but also demonstrated practical applications of their efforts in real-world scenarios. The activity highlighted teamwork, innovation, and community service, reflecting the NSS motto — “Not Me, But You”. The college management appreciated the initiative, acknowledging its positive impact on environmental awareness and sustainable practices. This endeavor by the NSS volunteers stands as an inspiring example of how small actions, like replacing plastic with paper, can contribute significantly towards environmental protection while serving the community.
