The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the College organized an interactive session on “Brain Fog, Posture & the Well-being Impact of Reels” to raise awareness about the cognitive, physical, and psychological effects of excessive social media use, particularly short-form content. The programme engaged over 1200 students from various streams, making it one of the largest awareness initiatives by the NSS Unit.
Resource persons explained how constant exposure to reels can cause brain fog, reduced concentration, memory lapses, and focus issues. Practical tips were shared on mindful screen usage, time management, relaxation techniques, and proper posture, including demonstrations of neck/back exercises and ergonomic practices to prevent long-term health problems.
The session also highlighted both the positives and negatives of reels, emphasizing the need to balance entertainment with purposeful use and prioritize mental and physical well-being. Students actively participated, and feedback indicated that the session was highly engaging, thought-provoking, and beneficial.
Through this initiative, the NSS Unit successfully promoted responsible digital usage, healthier lifestyles, and self-care among the student community.
