GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION
Celebrating Peace, Unity & the Dignity of Labour

On 2nd October 2026, I COM B Section, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of St. Charles Women’s PU College, conducted a special Gandhi Jayanti Assembly in the auditorium. 🌿

The programme began with a meaningful Bible Verse and Thought for the Day, inspiring students to embrace peace, humility, service and compassion. 🙏✨ A thought-provoking skit presented by the students highlighted the dignity of labour and the valuable contribution of workers in our society. 🎭🤝 As a gesture of appreciation and gratitude, three community helpers were honoured with a shawl and a cash award of ₹2,000 each, and breakfast was provided as a token of appreciation for their dedicated service. ❤️🌟

As part of the celebration, students also participated in a Peace March, carrying placards with messages of Peace, Unity, Non-Violence, Equality and Harmony, spreading the spirit of Gandhi’s ideals. 🕊️✌️ The programme concluded with a meaningful pledge, encouraging students to uphold peace, respect every individual, practise non-violence and contribute positively to society. 📜🌿 Principal Sr. Elizabeth Leo addressed the students and encouraged them to follow Gandhi’s values in their daily lives through kindness, simplicity, respect, compassion and a spirit of service. 🌟🙏 The celebration served as a meaningful reminder that every individual deserves dignity and respect and that small acts of kindness can create a more peaceful and compassionate society. 💚🕊️
