Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated on October 2nd, marks the birth anniversary
of Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of India's freedom struggle and a
proponent of non-violence. On this day, St. Charles Women's PU college
held a peace March honouring the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. Later our
beloved Principal Dr. Sr. Nancy Cutinho paid a tribute to the father
of the nation and implored the students to inculcate his value in
life. Students under the guidance of Ms. Sumathi, from the Department
of history, rendered Gandhiji's Priya Bhajans. On this prominent day
the logo for "Swachata Hi Seva " was unveiled. The momentous day ended
with the students taking a pledge of "Gandhi in me " honouring
Gandhi's principles of peace, tolerance, and simplicity. The
celebration also serves as a reminder of his significant contributions
to India's independence and his enduring legacy of non-violent
resistance, inspiring movements for civil rights and social change
worldwide.
